The holidays are right around the corner, and with that come the chaos of finding the perfect gift. If you have an ADHDer in your life to shop for, you may feel unsure of what to get ’em. Don’t worry – I’ve curated a huge list of gifts perfect for those with ADHD.
Unpopular opinion, but I recommend buying ADHDers things they need rather than just focus on what you think they might want. Hear me out…
Us ADHDers can really struggle with the boring, day-to-day stuff, and often avoid tasks and responsibilities even if we need to do them. Instead, we often treat ourselves to things that will boost that dopamine in our brains, which can include purchasing the stuff we want. We can also struggle with understanding what is truly a need and what we think is a need but is actually a want.

For that reason, I propose, unless your ADHDer has specifically told you something they want for the holidays, consider getting a gift that your family/friend will need and be able to put to good use. Check the gift guide below for some ideas. Reminder, some of the products are affiliate links, which, while may provide a small commission for me, will add no cost to you. Happy shopping!
For the ADHD Always On-the-Go

- Portable MagnaSafe battery pack: For those of us who are always on 20%
- Portable Tire Inflator: Very helpful when the added step to drive to a gas station is just too much.
- Portable car jump starter: SO HELPFUL when you don’t have cables, or a person to jump you!
- Tile or AirTag: For the inevitable lost keys, wallet, bag, etc.
Kitchen Items for the ADHDer

- Pyrex storage containers: Make sure you get the clear ones, because us ADHDers struggle with object permanence!
- Electric kettle: Helps avoid scorched stove-top kettles. Plus if it’s see-thru they can tell how much water to add!)
- Cast-iron pans: Skip the fancy pots and pans set that require special cleaning techniques. Gift them a hearty, sturdy cast-iron that’s nearly impossible to ruin.
- Food processor or multi-tool chopper: Cooking is hard enough -I need easy, quick appliances that do the work for me. I rely on my food processor for most of my chopping.
- Instant Pot or any multi-duty kitchen appliance: If they have the space, a multi-duty appliance is super helpful. I use my Instant Pot to cook rice, stews, crock pot meals, canning, etc.
Gifts to Nourish an ADHDer

- Meal subscription box: Anything that helps the ADHD manage their life a bit easier is key. Consider getting a pre-cooked meal subscription box to limit the stress (and mess) of cooking. If your ADHDer enjoys cooking, a subscription to Purple Carrot (for the plant-based ADHDer), Hello Fresh, or a similar meal kit will help decrease the decision fatigue of choosing what to make for dinner (a CONSTANT stressor in my life).
- Snack box subscription: For those who struggle to eat during the day, due to stimulants, hyperfocus, or general chaos of life, a snack subscription might be just what they need. There are a few different options to choose from: protein-focused snacks, specialty snacks, or even snacks from around the world.
- Smart Mug: For the the ADHDer whose constantly letting their coffee go cold.
- Bluetooth water bottle: Helps you remember to drink your water and tracks your ounces! Perfect for the chronically dehydrated ADHDer.
- BAWB (Big A** Water Bottle): A low-tech option that I use. Having on huge water bottle that, when it’s finished, I know I’ve met my goal for the day, is a win for me. Easy to track and doubles as a weapon or kettlebell.
Gifts to Help with Working Memory

- Smart Pill Tracker: These contraptions are great to help the ADHDer remember if they’ve taken their meds, supplements, or vitamins. It lets you know the last time the bottle was opened, so you know if you need to take your meds again or not.
- Smart Med Box: This device, while marketed toward seniors and those with dementia, is an excellent product to use for people who struggle to manage their daily pills. It’s also perfect for those who are learning medication management and working toward med compliance. These are a life saver for a lot of folks wanting to be more independent with taking their medications.
- Smart Plugs: A lot of “smart” things on this list and for good reason. Smart plugs allow us to schedule timers for our appliances (like your coffee maker), turn on/off electronics (lights, curling irons), and save energy by turning off items when charged or not in use.
- Home Assistant (Like Amazon Echo or Google Nest): These are popular for a reason. You can use voice commands to add things to your grocery list, set alarms and reminders, and ask about the weather. You can play music and podcasts to help keep that dopamine flowing. You can even personalize the Echo by purchasing a “shell“.
- Smart Calendar, like the Skylight: These Bluetooth-enabled smart calendars are perfect for busy families, or folks who need to keep up to date with each other’s social and work lives. The digital calendar is designed to sync calendars, create custom lists, manage chore charts and routines, and even meal planning. They are pricey, but many families swear by them. It’s beautifully designed and compatible with your phone as well, so you have your calendar wherever you go. The home base comes in two sizes currently: 15″ as a sleek table-top version, and 27″ for a gorgeous wall display. My next big family purchase might be one of these…
- Smart Thermostat, like the Google Nest Thermostat: These helpful, energy-saving devices are perfect for the ADHDer who forgets to turn off the heat when they leave the house or even getting out of bed because the heat hasn’t kicked in yet. You can program it to turn on/off at certain times of the day, as well as manage it remotely from your phone. Plus, us ADHDers can struggle with our finances and keeping our energy and heat prices down is just one way we can keep those bills in check.
Any of these gifts inspire you? What would you add to the list?
